The Huia Feather Earrings from Remix Plastics are inspired by the beautiful New Zealand native bird, the Huia. These Earrings and the work Remix are doing were brought to attention when worn by Jacinda Adern in 2020. Since then, these earrings have sold out numerous times! Please read more about Remix and the great work they are doing below:

“Our recycled plastic products are a vehicle to empower people to make sustainable changes, whether big or small. With local waste we create products that have a sustainable story – this not only diverts waste from landfill but also provides a way to engage people in a conversation around reducing single use plastic. We are proud that our products are created in collaboration and with support from organisations such as the Christchurch City Libraries and specifically Tūranga. Remix Plastic has chosen the tragedy of the extinction of the Huia to tell of the unintended consequences that can arise when sustainable practices aren’t integrated into our desire for new things.”
